NOWA ZELANDIA 2010
We’ve travelled the North
as well as the South
From the Tasman, to the Pacific
to the river’s mouth
The landscapes are diverse
wherever you go
Misty majestic mountains
to emerald valleys so low
The deep water sounds
rainforest and lakes
Hot geothermal springs and
the light the glowworm makes
Blue turquoise bays
and beaches of gold
Windswept rocky cliffs
are sights to behold
We’ve toured pristine cities
enjoyed a harbor or two
Visited Te Papa and museum
marvelled at what the tour guides Knew.
We’ve learned about Tuatara
and the mysterious Kiwi
About dolphins, Kakariki
Stilts, Kea and Tui
We’ve attended a Hangi
Tasted your beer, food and wine
Kumara, lamb, seafood,
fish and chips, all divine
The Maori our respect
they have earned
Of their culture, traditions
and values we’ve learned
The Kiwi people we’ve met
will stay in our heart.
Their fun friendly manner
really sets them apart.
So Kia ora New Zealand
Haere ra, Farewell
Of your beauty and people
We have much to tell.
